Reflection: Isaiah 26:3

by Jessica McGee

You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV)

A lot of people think that being in prison is easy. You don’t have to worry about bills, or politics. They think our daily life consists of standing behind bars and watching television, but they are wrong. Daily I have to live as if I am living in society. I have to take care of my budget monthly or I will not have the items I need, work at a job and deal with people who I know nothing about. Yes, I committed a crime to bring me to the place where I am, but if I do not keep my mind on Christ Jesus, I will be sucked into this chaotic controlled environment. The Scripture presented is easy to remember and once spoken it quickly helps me to reflect on whose I am. If you were in the predicament that I am in would you run to God or from God?  Most of us, if not all or us, think of that daily. How can a God of love allow me to have peace wherever I am as long as my life is in agreement to His will and if I keep Him on my mind? Only God can tell us this truth.
