Psalm 82

“The Office of God”

In this Psalm of Asaph, the psalmist rightly talks about who is actually in control of everything and those who abuse God’s office of being a Judge and diviner of justice will one day have to answer for their doings; including those who sit as appointed officials in our government.

In verse five, it says, “they know not, neither will they understand, they walk in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are our of course.”

Just three months ago, the City of Chicago release a scathing report on the Chicago Police Department’s culture of racial disparity and people were shocked by the findings.

I myself was not. I have been victimized by this culture since my inception in 1981. But thanks be to God that our prayers have been answered and he has brought to light the evil things that have been hidden in the Windy City’s darkness.

Our Holy father is causing a great stirring and he will no longer allow his office to be misrepresented, mistreated nor be an instrument of oppression. People say this is a godly nation, but would a godly nation turn a blind eye to the injustices scattered across the land?

We as members of the Church of Jesus Christ must take back God’s office of justice and rightfully dispense his decrees with love, mercy, and humility. It is our duty to speak out against the atrocities that spread the doctrine of hatred and the time to do so is now.
